(December 19, 2025) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced a recall of approximately 1,930 pounds of ready-to-eat holiday kielbasa sausage products from Olympia Provisions due to possible contamination with foreign material, specifically metal.

The affected product, produced on October 14, 2025, is a 16-ounce vacuum-sealed plastic package containing one fully cooked “OLYMPIA PROVISIONS UNCURED HOLIDAY KIELBASA.” The packages feature a “BEST IF USED BY” date of February 19, 2026, printed on the side of the label and bear the establishment number “EST. 39928” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

This holiday-season item was shipped to retail locations in California, Oregon, and Washington, and was also available for nationwide purchase through online direct-to-consumer sales.

The recall was initiated after Olympia Provisions notified FSIS of a consumer complaint reporting metal in the product. As of the announcement, there have been no confirmed reports of injury or illness related to consumption. FSIS advises anyone concerned about potential injury to contact a healthcare provider.

Consumers are urged not to eat the recalled kielbasa. Instead, they should throw it away or return it to the place of purchase. FSIS has expressed concern that some of the product may still be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers.

The recall is classified as a Class I—indicating a high risk to health—and is active as of December 19, 2025. FSIS will conduct effectiveness checks to ensure the product is removed from commerce and will post retail distribution lists on its website (www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls) when available.
